Kim Hyun Joong confirmed to have the swine flu in Japan

He is currently in a hospital in Tokyo as confirmed on the 8th. DSP says: “After finishing up promotion in Malaysia, Kim returned to Korea on 4th, then left for Japan on the 5th for the “Boys Over Flowers” promotion until 6th. During this time, he complained of very high fever. On the 7th, he was transferred to Tokyo for diagnosis and through tests, confirmed on 8th that he has the new flu or the swine flu.”
At one time his fever went up to 39.5 degrees celcius, but after receiving treatment, his temperature is going down. However, he needs to be quarantined in the hospital for about 15 days. Even if he fully recovers, he still needs to stay in the hospital for 5 more days at least before he is certified to leave the country, The other SS501 members left on the 7th after confirming that they do not have any signs of the flu. (What about the other BOF cast members that came in contact with him??)
Beside the 4 staff members of another SBS Korean drama who caught the flu in Las Vegas, Kim Hyun Joong’s case is the first entertainer to receive the diagnosis. This news is a shock to all.

There has been a lot of speculation about the current situation and we would like to clarify the matter.

Last weekend, 5 and 6 September, SS501’s Leader Kim Hyun Joong participated in promotional events for KBS-TV drama ‘Boys Over Flowers’ in Yokohama. During which, some health problems had arose.
He was scheduled to attend Hanryu Fodue recording before BOF event on 6 September. However, due to slight fever and headache, he did not attend the recording and had taken a rest. As his condition got better, he managed to perform on that stage, keeping the promise he made to the fans and displaying fighting spirit.
He was scheduled to return on Korea on 7 September at 12 p.m. However, in the morning of 7 September, he developed high fever and was sent to the emergency room. He was then diagnosed with swine influenza (H1N1).
Kim Hyun Joong is currently admitted in a hospital in Japan and was prescribed Tamiflu by doctors. His condition has turned for the better after receiving treatment, and requires more rest. His condition is still under observation.
Official staff and local staff of DSP media have been sent to keep a close eye on his condition. He will return to Korea as soon as his condition gets better.
There is no confirmation about his attendance of upcoming scheduled events.

Singer Kim Hyun Joong who is currently recuperating in Japan due to the outbreak of (H1N1) infection, sends his regards via his manager.
In the morning of 9 September, Kim Hyun Joong made a call and said “I’m sorry for giving the fans such a shock.” He said “Thank you (the fans) for your concern. I will get well soon so as to be able to meet all of you soon”
Kim Hyun Joong was said to be in rather serious condition since the confirmation of his diagnosis of contracting H1N1 virus on 8 September. Although some reports have stated that his fever has subsided and that his condition has improved, it is, in fact, not possible to ease the tension as his condition was quite serious. One of the Kim Hyun Joong’s related personnel said “I was very nervous since yesterday. This morning his voice was alright, the fever and neck pain has also subsided; I could breathe a sigh of relief.”
He also said that, “It looks hopeful that his immune system will recover during this period in the hospital.” (amen)
Currently, Kim Hyun Joong is recuperating in the one of the isolation rooms in a hospital in Ginza. He is with one of his managers.
Kim Hyun Joong was scheduled to attend the Seoul Drama Awards on 11 September. His absence will, in fact, cause a lot of distress. The personnel said “Amongst all the other nominees in Seoul Drama Awards for best Asia actor, Kim Hyun Joong had been awarded the prize. He expects himself to attend the award ceremony but the current situation is beyond his control and expresses regret and pity with regards to his absence.” (YAY HE WON)
